Gallifrey Plot

The TARDIS has landed. That much was made obvious by the soft, musical chime one could hear through almost the entire ship.
Eight looks up from pondering a small object. He slips it into his pocket. It's now or never, really. They know he's here. He uncurls from the chair he's been occupying and makes his way into the TARDIS interior.

Date: 2007-08-27 11:55 pm (UTC)"Doctor," he greets. Then, because he is just so informed on the subject of the Doctor's sentient ship (no, really, he's Captain Jack Harkness), Jack puts in: "No, really, she is a sentient ship and she'll do that. Trust me." ...Cue some wall-stroking from the Captain, ahem. Not that he really knows what they're even talking about, honestly.

Date: 2007-08-28 12:14 am (UTC)The Doctor's just completely lost, now, all thoughts of Gallifrey and drugged tea aside for the moment. But the puzzled look on his face is adorable.

Date: 2007-08-28 12:22 am (UTC)"Dunno," he answers with a shrug. "Thought I was in Rome, actually." He gives a pretty vague motion, which isn't gonna help the Doctor's cute-and-confused routine. (Does he want to, honestly?) "Some ... crazy thing with vampires? Then I woke up here. Not that I'm complaining, but if I wake up groggy in your magnificent time ship and can't remember what exactly I did the night before, I'd kinda like to assume a good time was had by all."
Sorry, Savvy, you're gonna get subjected to one of Jack's gorgeously suggestive grins. Doctors were made for flirting with, you see.

Date: 2007-08-28 01:09 am (UTC)"Wha... eh. Well, I ... ah. You had? You what? We're ... not in the Nexus any more," he finally manages.

Date: 2007-08-28 02:20 am (UTC)"Not in the Nexus? Then where are we? Better not be dangerous, I've had enough of that, thanks."
no subject
Date: 2007-08-28 02:27 am (UTC)"We're not?" He ... hadn't been in the Nexus to begin with, had he? Unless he'd teleported back for some reason. Which was entirely possible. And, well, he does have the tendency to sprawl in the TARDIS on occasion. Maybe he came back, sprawled, and doesn't remember - which does happen on occasion, though usually accompanied by lots of alcohol and debauchery of twelve sorts.
Jack inclines his head towards the general direction of the console room. "And when are we?" That's also an important question!

Date: 2007-08-28 02:36 am (UTC)He steps back somewhat. Doesn't want any on him in case Savannah explodes.

Date: 2007-08-28 02:46 am (UTC)"Doctor," however, is all the Captain says on the subject, in that particular inflection of his that asks for all the answers, now, and please stop beating around the fucking bush, thank you.

Date: 2007-08-29 12:03 am (UTC)"Yes, we're on Gallifrey. I ... left to avert the events of the Time War. I never meant to bring you along with me, Savannah, you have to beleive me, that was the TARDIS' doing..." He stops and collects his thoughts again.
"Right now, it's still relatively safe. I could find a way to get anyone who wants to leave back to the Nexus but I ... can't risk leaving and retracing temporal paths."

Date: 2007-08-29 07:01 am (UTC)"I'm got ... a vortex manipulator," he offers after a stilted pause, tilting his head to indicate the leather wristband. "Might need a little tweaked, but I've modded it for Nexus travel."

Date: 2007-08-29 01:50 pm (UTC)Gabriel is standing in the doorway, looking a bit dazed. He's still trying to shake off the effects of TARDIS-drugging, and not doing the best job of it.
"And from what I've known, 'relatively safe' is... well, it's a relative opinion."

Date: 2007-09-04 02:58 am (UTC)"No, I can't do that. Crossing timelines at a juncture like this would be impossible. You remember what we discussed in class--retracing one's own personal timeline like this creates too much of a buildup of temporal energy and risks repercussions of a correllary on the Blinovitch Effect. Here, it would be even worse. I'm sorry, but I simply can't--"
There's a noise. An oddly electronic noise, something of a recurring tone. The Doctor stops short, looking back in the direction of the console room. "Well, someone's certainly impatient." And back toward said chamber he starts.

Date: 2007-09-04 05:59 pm (UTC)Then back to the Doctor. "Did you just say we were on a planet that is slated for destruction and you can't leave because of some sort of time thingamagawhatsit?" Excuse him, he's going to sit the hell down. "I thought the Nexus was all we had to worry about."
Pause. "This doesn't have anything to do with the Nexus, does it?"

Date: 2007-09-04 06:30 pm (UTC)"...Lan Oh, I'm so sorry..." Lan gets a quick hug as the entire crowd, hopefully, moves toward the console room. Plenty of chairs there.
"It hasn't anything to do with the Nexus per se, though I hope to use its unpredictibility to my advantage," the Doctor continues. Oh, this hasn't half bollocksed up, has it? He twists and pokes a few controls and a truly spectacular holographic veiwer fliclers and unrolls, taking up a good portion of the console room's ceiling. Pity all it shows is a vast ceremonial chamber and what appear to be a few individuals in red, white, and silver uniforms attempting to break in.
"The Panopticon again? Well, no wonder they're tring to break in....

Date: 2007-09-04 07:40 pm (UTC)"If they're hostile, they'll not be hurting anyone here." He sounds tired, but there is and undertone of titanium spine in his words.

Date: 2007-09-04 09:11 pm (UTC)He opens the doors so they don't have to actually complete the cipher-intent breakin, and several guards come trooping in, stasar-pistols at the ready.
"Unauthorised capsule operator, you are hereby ordered, on directive of the Castellan, to--Oh. It's you, Doctor."
Mass rather awkward lowering of weaponry.

Date: 2007-09-04 09:23 pm (UTC)Lan politely smiles at the guards and waits for the Doctor to do whatever sort of diplomatic (ha!) thing that needs doing.
